Paneer Butter Masala

Ingredients:

  • 250g paneer, cubed
  • 2 large onions, finely chopped
  • 2 tomatoes, pureed
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup cooking oil
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1/4 tsp kasuri methi (dried fenugreek leaves)
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh coriander for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Prepare Base: Heat oil and butter in a pan. Add cumin seeds and let them sizzle. Add onions and ginger-garlic paste, and sauté until onions are golden brown.
  2. Add Spices and Tomato Puree: Add turmeric, red chili powder, coriander powder, and garam masala. Stir well. Add tomato puree and cook until oil separates from the masala.
  3. Add Paneer: Add cubed paneer and mix gently. Cook for 5-7 minutes.
  4. Add Cream: Stir in heavy cream and kasuri methi. Cook for another 5 minutes until the curry thickens.
  5. Serve: Garnish with fresh coriander and serve hot with naan or rice.
